The year that passed

2022 will not be put in the box for favourite years. Life sometimes takes turns you did not expect. At the same time I don´t want to complain, as others have it way worse coping with their daily life all around the world.

In the first months of 2022 we had a lot of snow and got a real treat with Aurora Borealis.

Spring flowers arrived. A glorius time to be out with the camera. It is a time for ”the first” of every flower appearing.

I finally got time for an operation to remove one of my parathyoid glands and half of the thyroid gland. Both glands had not been doing their job leaving me with all sorts of side effects. Little did I know that this was not the only operation life had in store for me. A couple of weeks before this operation I found a lump in my breast and within a few weeks had a lot of examinations which ended with the diagnosis – breast cancer.

Let´s just conclude that the summer of 2022 was like no other. Operation, recuperation and planning for radiation treatment. And in all this trying to live as normal as possible.

In August I had an exhibition with some of my photos. The exhibition was in one of Carl von Linnés houses here in Uppsala.

During the rest of the year of 2022 my energy has been lower than normal. I have worked the whole time, but been to tired to be out with my camera as much as I usually am. I´m slowly getting back to a slightly altered normality.

So – 2022 was a handful to cope with and hopefully 2023 will be more ”normal”. I ended 2022 and started 2023 with including more exercise and hopefully I manange to incorperate this for the whole year. I´m combining walking with more aerobics and muscle strengthening exercises to keep as fit as possible.

Looking forward to a year filled with fun things and a lot of photo oppertunities and challenges. Took part in an online challenge with the theme ”altered reality”. So much fun!
