What a wonderful shot, Maria! We were able to do this from our home in Illinois–looking right outside the window for butterflies and birds. What a joy! Merry Christmas.
You are lucky to be able to do that. I have a bay tree in my garden which is home to about six BIG pidgeons and they frighten all the little birds away. If I leave food out for them, the big birds eat it before the little ones have a chance.
I have a lot of hanging bird feeders with sunflower seeds, peanuts and other goodies for the smaller birds. The bigger birds like blackbirds, pigeons and magpies often eat from whatever has been spilled on the ground below.
